African Marigold Spun Yellow Dwarf is an old, popular variety. These compact plants produce abundant, softly ruffled lemon-yellow double blooms with a neat dwarf habit — perfect for borders, edging, containers and mass displays. They’re low-maintenance, fast to flower and add bold, long-lasting colour to beds and pots.
Sow indoors in February–March at 18–24 °C in trays. Prick out the seedlings after three to six weeks. At the end of April, the plants can be transplanted into a greenhouse or under plastic. After mid-May, you can also plant them outdoors in a sunny, wind-protected spot. Flowering typically begins about 8–12 weeks after sowing and continues for months with regular deadheading (spring sowing flowers March–June; autumn sowing flowers November–February in milder areas).
