African Marigold Maximix Dwarf is an old, popular variety. This vibrant dwarf mix produces abundant, double and semi-double ruffled blooms in a bold palette — ideal for borders, mass plantings, pots and containers. They’re fast to flower, low-maintenance and give a long, colourful display from spring into summer.
Sow indoors in February–March at 18–24 °C in trays. Prick out the seedlings after 3–6 weeks. At the end of April the plants can be transplanted into a greenhouse or under plastic; after mid-May you can plant outdoors in a sunny, wind-protected spot. Flowering typically begins 8–12 weeks after sowing and continues for months with regular deadheading — spring sowings usually flower March–June (regional variation applies).
